Specialty Film-Carbon Fiber

Carbon Fiber is a sleek and exciting pattern that has been around but is starting to have some new and more frequent looks on vehicles. In the past you would see pieces of a car such as the hood or roof in carbon fiber. Now with this new material it can be used as an accent for your paint job, graphic decal or strips. There are also many cars driving around as completely carbon fiber.
Carbon Fiber is a very distinct look, usually being lighter in weight. When using vinyl carbon fiber material is does not decrease the weight of your vehicle but, at Laser Sharp Sign Design we can give you the best product of carbon fiber.Using 3M material, the best in the business, we can provide with carbon fiber colors, not only black, also grey, white and many other colors.

Specialty Film- Matte Black

Matte black is a style which gives all the slickness of black but takes away the gloss, leaving you with a solid base matte (flat) black. No more light glistening of your car, some people refer to is at batman black, you  can become invisible in the dark. Matte black can be done as just a full body wrap and left alone, or a full body wrap with other colors used at accent to bring them out.
*In the picture below you can contrast the gloss color from the matte black.

More common then using the matte black as your primary color is using it as the accent, such as a strip or for mirrors. Because the gloss is taken from the black it does an excellent job in portraying your primary color and really making it POP, such as a candy red or blue. It is very popular to see this color as a stripe on the hood or down the side of a car.

Specialty Film-Stormtrooper White

For a high-end, understated custom look the stormtrooper white is the way to go. The equivilant to the matte black it takes away the glossy look from the white but still portrays a sleek look! Its a great primary color, whether you only have that or add a stripe or decal with it. It gives your vehicle a classy look which will get heads turning on the streets.

UV Protection

After getting your vehicle wrapped, another feature to help maintain and have a long lifespan, you can get a coat of UV protection sprayed onto your vehicle. This prevents your vehicle from ”baking” in the sun. It is a nanotechnology UV based protection offered by Permanon. The key ingredient in the spray is Silicium (Si14) the earths second most frequently occurring element after oxygen. Silicium combined with oxygen for a sand like silicates (Silicium Dioxide Si02).
There are many benefits to this UV protection; Easy to apply and maintain, it forms a electrostatic bond not a chemical reaction, Resistant against Ultra Violet light exposure, Resistant against acid rain, pleasant oder, non toxic, non flammable or irritant, and biodegradable  contains no VOC’s, requires no respiratory when mixing, applied through a water based solution, repels airborne dust, dirt is unable to bond tightly, reduces future cleaning labor time by up to 50%, extends time between cleanings, easily removed at a pH of 12.5 or higher. This UV protection is a properly mixtured monomolecular (pure) Silicium offered by Permanons nanotechnology.

Stripes

When thinking of ideas to wrap your vehicle stripes are always a good way to add character to your car. The original down the center stripe is not the only one in style anymore. Although it is still a great look many car manufactures have started to have more slim and sharp stripes down the sides of vehicles then the big solid one over the top and hood. You can really change the look of your vehicle just by having a stripe, you should focus on the lines of your vehicle and design a stripe that follows in order to give your car that sharp look.

Now comes the installation of your stripe. Laying down a stripe on a vehicle is a careful process which you want to take time with. You want to be sure that your stripe is strait and that it also does not crinkle or rip. There are a few ways to lay down a stripe, all which need some precision  First you can lay down the color vinyl that you want the stripe to be. Once you have it on the part of the vehicle you want you can make the necessary cuts to get rid of the excess vinyl and be left with your stripe. Another way to have a perfectly strait stripe is to use cutting tape. This is like a painters tape that you lay down under the vinyl you want to cut. So you would put the cutting edge of the tape where you want your stripe to start/finish. After placing the tape where you want it you lay your vinyl stripe, then you simply pull from one side of your tape and it make a perfectly strait cut for your stripe. Stripes are an easy and inexpensive way to add some charisma to your vehicle, use creativity to give your vehicle a custom stripe.

Decals

Decals are a good way to add effects to your vehicle without getting a full vehicle wrap. There are an endless number of decals you can get to put on your vehicle. A decal can be an image or wording of the customers choice that can be placed on any part of the vehicle to make it more then just a colored vehicle. A decal can be placed anywhere on a vehicle, the most common parts are the hood, tailgate, or side door panels. Decals can be used for looks, like adding an image of something that interest you or they can be used to advertise your business. You can take your name and logo and put it on the hood and side of your car, this wouldnt be as effective as a vehicle wrap but it still gets your name on the streets. You may loose some information such as a number, address and small details of what your business is about but one way or the other you are still getting the name of your business seen by thousands of people. Decals are a great way to advertise and also a great way to give your car the special custom look if thats what your looking for.

Rim Wraps

Sometimes when you change the color of your vehicle the color rims you have don’t look as good anymore, but that doesn’t mean the style you have doesn’t still look good. Now instead of having to buy a new rim you can get them wrapped a different color. Whether you want something as simple as black or even chrome and gold. Any color you choose could be placed on your rims to better suit your car. If you are able to change the color of your car whether you wrap or paint it, changing the color of your rims is a good investment that is cheaper then buying new rims.
The idea of being able to wrap your rims really extends the creativity that you have in color, style and design. This gives you the ability to      have multi-colors and custom designs that no one else will have. Not many people know about being able to wrap your rims, its something that hasn’t caught on yet but will soon. Give your car its own unique rims for the best look.

Reflective Wraps

A reflective vinyl is something that you dont see often unless it is on a vehicle of authority. Although you can do a full reflective vehicle wrap it is not something that I would recommend. Reflective vinyl is a good use for a strip or decal on your vehicle. It would give your vehicle that distinguishing factor that sets it apart from the rest. You will notice that the decals on the side of a police car are reflective wrap, they don’t always seem to be reflective especially during the day but, when your lights shine on a police car at night all of their decals light up, allowing you to see them clearly and even read what county the cops from.
Reflective vinyl could be a good use for advertisement, during the day it would look like a normal car wrap with all your business information. Then at night your business information would be shining in the lights. You would get the attention of many drivers during the night just because of the reflective vinyl, once you have their attention they are going to read the information on you vehicle. This is a creative way not only to get attention but to advertise your company in a new and effective way.

Wrapping Fleets

There are two ways to use fleets of vehicles to improve advertisement of your company. The first way is if you are the owner of all the vehicles. If you have 20 vehicles for your company that drive around every day they are being seen by hundreds of thousands of people. If you advertised on your vehicles the amount of people to see your company name, logo and information would be through the roof. With the simple installment of wraps on your vehicles you have increased your advertisement immensely.
Secondly if you are a small business owner without any company vehicles, make some calls and advertise on another companies fleet vehicles. This may cause for payment to the company and for the wrap but, if you get 10 out of the 20 vehicles someone else owns you are know advertising all over town without having to drive around or spend your own gas money. Take advantage of fleet vehicles, they do nothing but spend their days on the road and for every mile they travel is another 100-200 people you can be advertising to.

Wrap Care

If you have transformed your bland old paint job into a unique or business advertising vehicle wrap, I would like to congratulate you. You have now successfully put your car into a new realm that will have all the people on the streets looking your way. Having a vinyl wrap is different then a paint job and requires a little different care.

1) Automatic car washes are now out of the question. The high pressure water and bristles from the machine will cause damage to your wrap and costly repairs. You should hand wash your car with a sponge, and a low pressure or mist of water. If you have to use a high pressure water system be sure to stand back at a distance and not to hold the stream on one point of the car, doing so could cause a tear in your vinyl.

2) When using wax, be sure to hand wax your car and DO NOT use a buffer. There are different kinds of wax, be sure to use one that is suitable for vinyl such as turtle wax. If you go to get your vehicle detailed be sure that they also use a wax that is vinyl friendly. Waxing your vehicle will keep your wrap clean and polished and also make it easier to deinstall of the wrap, leaving little to no adhesive behind.

3) Avoid parking under trees for any long periods of time. Sap from some trees can damage your wrap causing you more money.

4) If you have window perf it should be waxed as well. It will give your perf a longer life span and help the lamination. Do not use high pressure on the window perf as well, it can also cause damage.

Be sure to protect your wrap, it is an investment and bad care can cause to money down the drain.

Matte colors

Matte colors are no longer just for primer, they are becoming a new style that is taking the creativity of colors to new levels. This green VW Jetta got wrapped in a matte black followed up by carbon fiber on the hood, roof, mirrors, and gas tank to give it more character. A color in which most people look at as a "primer" or unfinished paint job is now a new style that is starting to get some second looks while driving down the streets.

Vinyl Creativity

The imagination has no limits, neither do the designs that we can print and install onto any substrate. In this case we have a BMW hood. Instead of using it as advertisement we created a spider carbon fiber. Taking two different designs (The spider and web and the carbon fiber) and bonding them together to make a image that looks like the carbon fiber is tearing away and a spider and its web is coming out from underneath. This just goes to show that you can go out of your realm and give your image its own special wow factor that will make peoples heads spin.

Full body vehicle wraps. This is the greatest form of advertisement, and one of the least expensive. Prices depending on the size and dimensions of the vehicle your looking at a couple thousand for your average size car. Some people say why not just get it painted? Well your average paint job can start to fade within 4-6 years and in the end just does damage to your vehicle. With a vehicle wrap, a removable vinyl material placed over your paint, you have a life span of 5-7 years and the durability that protects the paint job underneath. This is the biggest form of advertisement because as you drive your vehicle every week, thousands of people see your car. With the abilities to design and print anything we can turn your car into a billboard on wheels.
